//welcome
Hello, and welcome to my art space! I’m so glad you’re here.
My name is Mary Cook and I’m a stay-at-home-mom to one sweet little girl. First and foremost I’m a Christ-follower. I come from a big Christian family and grew up on a “mini” farm with my 6 siblings - a few goats, a horse, chickens, a rotation of dogs and cats - you get the picture.
After community college, I lived in Illinois for a few years where I attend Olivet Nazarene University and studied…well…really began my art career. Even though I felt God’s calling to art as a little 8 year girl, I studied music more passionately up until this point. A few months before moving to Bourbonnais, God pulled my heart back to His own and I changed my major to art. It truly was the best decision.
College was an odd time for me, socially speaking. I made friends, sure. But I mostly was struggling in my relationship with the Lord and tried to be someone I thought people would like instead of living as the person He created and loved how He made. Even through the struggle of trying to fit in, I did meet some of my closest friends to this day.
After college, I moved back home and lived with my sister for a few years. We attended the same church, where we both met our then future spouses . We grew closer than ever in those two short years and she even became my next door neighbor after our weddings!
My husband and I moved into our first home a month after our wedding in the same small town where I grew up. We immediately made the place our own and have since had many wonderful memories…first Christmas as a family, finding out we were pregnant, bringing our baby home…just to name a few.
When my husband and I had our daughter toward the end of 2025, I quit my full time job to be with her and decided it was time to build my art business. It’s been one of my greatest joys and blessings. I’ve used my own life experiences to create art that speaks to all who see it. I believe we all have a connection - created beings of God and made for the purpose of glorifying Him and making Him known. And I think if we share what He has done and is doing in our lives, that’s just a fraction of how we can accomplish that purpose. So that’s my goal through art. To speak to you and point to the Creator. I specialize in watercolor and digital work. My art is a visual exploration of every day life. From stickers and prints to landscapes and biblical truths, there truly is something for everyone here.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoy what you see!
